Sign Up FAQs
How do Banking teams sign up?
Advisor teams will receive a login from Steve Schroko. They simply go to www.spendgrowgive.com and enter the team’s login.
When you’re ready to sign up a client, we encourage you to refer to Sign-up Checklist provided. It might be helpful to first engage clients on the topic of their children and investment. Once the client says, “Great, sign me up,” we recommend that the designated TILE point person from your team complete the sign up process.
Should I request a separate login for my Client Service Associate?
Since member information is only visible to the Advisor that sets up the member, we recommend against creating a separate login. However, on the My Account page, there is an option to add contact information for an additional team member. This team member’s contact information will then be visible to members alongside yours.
How many and what type of accounts does the Member need?
Each Member will generally have up to 3 accounts:
● 1 checking account which links to a debit card or a credit card for SPEND
● 1 investment account for GROW
● 1 credit card for GIVE (no debit card, can be the same one as SPEND)
Do they need all three accounts to get going?
Research shows that young adults care about all three aspects of their financial lives equally. That’s the philosophy TILE is rooted in and it’s why we consider all three accounts optimal for the experience. But all three accounts are not essential to experience SpendGrowGive.
What if the Member does not have all three accounts?
Not all accounts are necessary to access www.spendgrowgive.com. A member can experience the site with only a SPEND account (a checking account that links to debit card or a credit card) or a GROW account (their UBS investment account) or a GIVE account (a credit card), if they or their funder choose. For any category where an account is not designated, set the allocation to “$0” and the frequency to “in the future”. Accounts, amounts and frequency can be added or changed at a later date.
Why does TILE need information such as academic level to sign up a Member?
Members can compare their Spending and Giving habits with other Members in the TILE community. Some basic information, such as age group and academic level, are used for these comparisons.
What if the client does not want their children to see the amount invested in their UBS investment account?
Propose that the client open a separate investment account and transfer into it an amount that they are more comfortable showing to their children. This way, the member still has a Grow account to link and can begin to learn about the allocation of their assets. Alternatively, since the member only needs one account linked in order to access SpendGrowGive, set the Grow allocation to “$0” and the frequency to “in the future.” A Grow account can always be added later on.
What about accounts for the Funder?
The Funder needs one account from which to transfer funds to the Member’s three destination accounts. Wire or ACH transfers to each will be set up by the UBS team.
